Shows positive result with Rhodococcus ruber primers in species-specific PCR (245); analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequence (303). Properties: uses propane and n-butane as sole carbon source (55); produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C₁₂-C₁₇) (74). (Medium 5 or 8, 11, 28^oC).
