Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T (4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, hexan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol, propan-1,2,3-triol), aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, oxybenzene, xylol) and phenylacetic acid as sole carbon source. (Medium 8 or 15, 16, 17, 18, 28oC).
