Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, octan-1-ol, propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol) and aromatic hydrocarbons (methylbenzene, naphthalene, oxybenzene) as sole carbon source. (Medium 8 or 15, 16, 17, 28oC).
