Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(96); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses hydrocarbons as sole carbon source; produces biosurfactants when growing on n-alkanes (C12-C17) (74); degrades paracetamol (265). (Medium 8 or 11, 28oC).
