Demonstrates the reaction of complete identity with polyclonal antiserum against Rhodococcus erythropolis IEGM 7T(4); shows positive result with Rhodococcus erythropolis primers in species-specific PCR (245). Properties: uses normal hydrocarbons, aliphatic alcohols (butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, ethanol, propan-1-ol), aromatic hydrocarbons (oxybenzene) and phenylacetic acid as sole carbon source. (Medium 8 or 15, 16, 28oC).
